What's New at 13L
- A Reach-Out to Prospective Members. The members of 13L -- Scott Derrick, Don Jacobson, Jeffrey Vargas, Mike O'Leary, Jeri Buchholz and Patricia Armstrong -- are currently meeting with prospective members from across federal departments and agencies. - Viewpoint on Leadership. In the most recent Viewpoints column, member Patricia Armstrong discusses Oren Harari's informative book on The Leadership Secrets of Colin Powell.
- Roundtable on Supervision and Coaching. 13L is co-sponsoring a roundtable discussion with Young Government Leaders on successful strategies for first-line supervisors in coaching and developing new government employees. The forum will be held on June 8 at 5:00 pm at the D.C. offices of the National Academy of Public Administration. Our very own Jeri Buchholz is scheduled to participate on the panel. Other panelists include Cynthia Yee, Director of the Energy Department's Acquisition Career Development Program, and Peter Edelman, Health and Human Services Emerging Leader. The forum will be moderated by Hannah Sistare, Vice President for Academy Affairs at NAPA. The members of 13L hope that you can join us.
- Quarterly Business Meeting. The members and advisors of 13L met on May 9 to discuss potential projects that the group could undertake over the next year. The members of 13L would like to thank advisors Glenn Sutton, Vic Rezendes, and Ray Blunt for providing valuable advice on these potential projects. More announcements on these projects to come.
