What's New at 13L

- New Advisor Announced ! The members of 13L would like to welcome Ray Blunt as the group's third advisor. Ray joins Glenn Sutton and Vic Rezendes in providing valuable advice and counsel as 13L continues to grow. Thank you to Ray for signing on!
- A Reach-Out to Prospective Members. The members of 13L -- Scott Derrick, Don Jacobson, Jeffrey Vargas, Mike O'Leary, Jeri Buchholz and Patricia Armstrong -- are currently meeting with prospective members from across federal departments and agencies. - Viewpoint on Leadership. In the most recent Viewpoint column, member Scott Derrick discusses the five "levels of leadership" from John C. Maxwell's excellent book entitled Developing The Leader Within You.
- Happy Hour Event. A "happy hour" get-together is scheduled for prospective members of 13L to meet and chat with current members of the group. If you are interested in possible membership in the group or would like to participate in the conversation, please join us on April 25 at Clyde's Restaurant at Gallery Place in Washington, D.C. anytime between 5 and 7PM. Look for us at the upstairs bar area!
- Quarterly Business Meeting. The members and advisors of 13L will meet on May 9 to discuss potential projects that the group could undertake during the next 12 months. More announcements on these projects to come.
- Roundtable on Supervision and Coaching. 13L is co-sponsoring a roundtable discussion with Young Government Leaders on successful supervision and coaching of new government employees. The event is planned for June 8 at 5PM at the D.C. offices of the National Academy of Public Administration. Our very own Jeri Buchholz is scheduled to participate on the panel. Stay tuned for additional information about other speakers.
