Orice M. Williams
has spent her career in civil service at the U.S. Government Accountability
Office (GAO). She is currently a Director in GAO’s Financial Markets and
Community Investment team. In this capacity, Ms. Williams is responsible for
leading numerous diverse teams that work on a variety of cross-cutting
public policy issues in the financial services sector. Her portfolio of work
is generally concentrated in securities and futures oversight, banking,
insurance, and accounting policy. Over the past decade, she has produced
numerous reports and led a wide variety of efforts involving
government-sponsored enterprises, derivatives, hedge funds, day trading,
investor protection, human capital management practices, private-sector
diversity initiatives, and financial-regulatory coordination. Ms. Williams
serves as an adjunct faculty member in GAO’s Center for Performance and
Learning. She also has been involved in GAO’s efforts to improve its
staffing process and to identify viable alternatives to its paper-intensive
working environment.
Ms. Williams received an M.B.A. with a concentration
in finance from Virginia Tech in 1990 and B.S. degree in business and
finance from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1988.
