Victor Rezendes retired from federal service in February 2004 after a distinguished 36-year federal career. At the Government Accountability Office (GAO), he served in several capacities including as Assistant Comptroller General for Health, Education, and Human Services Division and also as Director of Energy, Resources, and Science issues. In October 2000, he was selected by Comptroller General David Walker to serve as the Managing Director of GAO's Strategic Issues team, where he coordinated GAO's efforts on reassessing the role of the federal government to meet 21st century challenges.

Mr. Rezendes earned a Master of Public Policy from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bryant University. He is a CPA and is a member of the Institute of Management Accounts and the AICPA. He currently serves as an independent consultant based in the Washington, D.C. area. He has recently been advising the Chairman of the Supreme Audit Board of Indonesia on (1) organizational management and implementation strategies as it transitions to the chief audit organization of federal, state and local government entities and (2) auditing and management controls for tsunami relief and reconstruction efforts.
