Ray Blunt  is focusing the second half of his life on helping to grow the next generation of servant leaders. He is the Associate Director and Fellow of the newly formed Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation and Culture (www.washingtoninst.org). He also serves as a consultant and teacher on developing leaders and writes an online column on leader development for GovLeaders.org.

Mr. Blunt served 35 years in public service in the Air Force and the Department of Veterans Affairs--the last 17 of those years was as a Senior Executive. He has successfully led a number of significant public sector change initiatives (and has seen some failures as well) and has headed organizations involved in strategic and human resources planning, leader development and policy and organizational analysis.

A 1964 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Mr. Blunt holds a master’s degree in economics from Central Missouri State University and has done extensive post-graduate studies in management and theology.

He and his wife B.J. have been married for over 40 years and have two grown children and five grandchildren. They are active in The Falls Church and they enjoy outdoor activities including hiking and birding.
